Every week in San Diego a few of the Museums are free for residence so I went to the Japanese
Friendship Garden. It's a small garden but perfectly lovely and relaxing. It has a K
oi garden where a few people were painting and in side a small building you are lead through a room filled with ancient pottery and benches overlooking a Zen garden. One of the things I remember from my Art history class was that if you are rich in Japan you pay someone to rake your garden. As an American we
experience Zen gardens as something you rake yourself. They are beautiful and calming to look at either way.
