Pamphlet stitch and Cross Stitch

Pamphlet stitch and Cross Stitch

I'm in the process of debating if I want to take a book binding class this weekend. I have a few books on book binding and I started doing some of the traditional bindings to give myself a little training. At the begging of last year I started binding books by figuring out how to get the finished product just to see if I could do it.

I was talking to someone today about the book Re-bound (using recycled material to make books) and she was like can you follow the directions in the book. Yes you can but you do have to read them a couple of times. i can learn faster visually but I trained myself to learn other ways as well.

I rarely get anything when I read it the first time so it's just habit to read things 3 times and force my brain to push past that point where it shuts down. My brain doesn't love directions. My brain also doesn't love going outside of my comfort zone but I've learned to go beyond that point. I kept thinking about math today when I was working on the cross stitch book.

The cross stitch book cover isn't finished but I wanted to sew it so I could work in it. Dinner Time.

  1. I really love the book rebound... but I agree there is something about seeing it done... I use Youtube tutorials to bridge the gaps when I need to!
